The German tuning company, the well known Edo Competition, transformed the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 right into a artwork by using the international designer, Christian Augier. The result of their entire jobs are the Lamborghini LP710, a fantastic and fast supercar.
Edo Karabegovic is a mechanic who worked for Ferrari and lives in a small village, northeast of Dortmund. Now he is retired and willing to take on massive projects that suppose transforming already exceptional cars in even more impressive and high-speed sports cars. To be able to create the Lamborghini LP710, Edo used the Murcielago LP640 and removed only its standard hardware that powered the leading wheels and also the entire dynamic safety net. As a result the load of the car was lowered with 88 pounds. Instead, he increased with 69 horsepower the power produced by the 6.5 liters V12 engine of the Murcielago by using the engine control unit. He also designed a new air intake, new exhaust headers, high-performance camshafts, high-flow catalytic converters, blueprinted cylinder heads and a stainless-steel exhaust system.
The Lamborghini LP710 comes with an intricate rear wing which has a Gurney flap that can be adjusted and forged aluminum wheels equipped with Continental V-max tires. On the street the LP710 is amazing. The automatic manual transmission changes very easy the gear while the upgraded clutch mounted by Edo on this cool Lamborghini sends a jolt through the driver’s spine when he clicks the right-hand shift paddle. That’s why the driving experience is incredible and fearsome. What impresses much more may be the noise produced by the V12 engine of the LP710 which combined with the lightweight exhaust system cause you to feel that Edo plugged the engine into an amp.
The LP710 is equipped with a two-wheel drive system and that’s why you should have some skills to become in a position to drive this fierce “beast”. Maybe because of its drive system this supercar became more intuitive and much more fun to drive. But even if it sounds dangerous, the LP710 is equipped with high performance brakes and security features. This cool Lamborghini goes from zero to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and you will reach 200 km/h in less than 10 seconds. With regards to the top speed this supercar reaches 360 km/h (223.7 mph) making every speed fanatic very happy to drive the LP710. Read the rest of this entry »
History Of Lamborghini

Lamborghini was founded in 1963 by Ferrucio Lamborghini, a former army member who established their own company committed to building tractors. The tractor business developed as years passed as well as in 1970 another factory was founded to produce air conditioning units and heaters for buildings. The incredible success was celebrated in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy where the company established its headquarters.
But everything changed when he met Enzo Ferrari. It was the moment when his desire to build high-speed supercars with luxurious interiors revealed itself. Ferrucio complained to Enzo about a clutch problem that the Ferrari he owned had. Enzo told him that “the problem is not with the car but with the driver…” and that he was asked to take care of his tractors and leave the issue for those who get sound advice.
Disappointed through the answer received, Ferrucio dismounted the transmission of his car and found out that his car used exactly the same transmission as his tractors. Because of this discovery, he asked some talented men who worked for Enzo Ferrari including Franco Scaglione, Giotto Bizzarini and Gian Paolo Dallara to provide him help. As a result, the team created the perfect competitor for that Ferrari cars, the Automobili Lamborghini.
Ferrucio was inspired by its birth sign, Taurus, and started using it as an emblem for his cars. In fact, even nowadays the Lamborghini cars are named after bulls. The Italian company also recruited Giotto Bizzarrini, a worker who used to work for Ferrari and asked him to create and manufacture a V12 engine for Lamborghini. This engine was soon built and was able to produce 400 horsepower. But because Ferrucio wanted a GT car and never a racing car, the ability was reduced to 280 horsepower.
The very first car manufactured by Lamborghini was the GTV prototype as the first production car was the Lamborghini 350GT manufactured in 1964. After the Lamborghini 350GT, the history of Lamborghini continued using the manufacture and release of the Miura, a genuine supercar named after a well-known bull race. However the success didn’t stop here. In 1968 Lamborghini manufactured the Lamborghini Espada 400GT which was a large hit, a lot more than 1,200 cars being built at Sant’Agata. The 2010 Lamborghini Murchiealago LP640 at a median price of $ 450,000 is far from the most expensive sports car available. The Lamborghini Revention and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport each cost around $ 1.5 million. The Murchiealago LP640 is also not the street legal sports car with the highest maximum speed at its 211 mph. The American produced SSC Ultimate Aero can obtain 257 mph.
What the 2010 Murchiealago LP640 is was summed up best in a Los Angeles Times review, “…the most heinously irresponsible, developmentally arrested, awesomely cool sports car the world has ever known.”
The Murchiealago is, by longstanding Lamborghini tradition, named after a famous Spanish fighting bull. The sports cars namesake survived 28 wounds inflicted by the sword of matador Rafael Molina Sanchez in 1879. In a very rare gesture of respect for the bull, Sanchez spared its life.As a replacement for Lamborghini’s 11-year-old Diablo the car went on sale in 2002, identified only as the Murchiealago with a mid-engine design, a 6.2-liter V12 and 4 wheel drive. LP640 designated models followed and in 2004, Lamborghini rolled out the LP640-4 roadster.
The latest model introduced is the LP670-4SV (SuperVeloce) and is widely expected to be the final incarnation of the Murchiealago prior to Lamborghini introducing a new model sometime in 2010.An aluminum 6.496 Liter (396.4 cu in) 60-degree V12 provides power to the SuperVeloce This engine develops 670 bhp @ 8000 rpm with torque rated at 487 ft lbs to the wheels at 6500 rpm. Top speed is 213 mph with a 0-60 mph speed of 3.1 seconds. Two spoiler options are available for the SV with the smaller option allowing the 213 mph top speed while the larger one creates more down force that enhances handling but gives away 4 mph in speed. The SV has a reworked body on the front and rear, which distinguishes it from the 640. A reworking on all components on the car reduced curb weight by 220 lbs, which gives it a phenomenal power to weight ratio of 5.1 lbs per hp. Read the rest of this entry »
